Caenorhabditis elegans
MTR-4
CELE_W08D2.7, W08D2.7
mtr-4 encodes the C. elegans homolog of Saccharomyces cerevisiae Mtr4p, an RNA helicase that functions as part of the TRAMP complex that regulates polyadenylation of mRNAs destined for decay or exosomal trimming; loss of mtr-4 activity results in a variety of defects, including defects in germ line development; MTR-4 can be phosphorylated by murine ERK2 in vitro, suggesting that it is a substrate for the RTK-RAS-ERK pathway in vivo.
