cyn-11 encodes a divergent cyclophilin D isoform, with alterations in the normally well-conserved cyclophilin-binding domain, and a central 7-8 residue insert not usually found in cyclophilins, except from plants; CYN-11 has sluggish but detectable peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity in vitro, suggesting that it has a specialized substrate in vivo; CYN-11 is dispensable for viability and gross morphology in mass RNAi screens.
