Caenorhabditis elegans
UNC-97
CELE_F14D12.2, F14D12.2
The unc-97 gene encodes a LIM domain-containing protein of the PINCH family that is highly similar to human LIMS1 (OMIM:602567) and LIMS2; UNC-97 functions as an adaptor protein important for assembly of muscle adherens junctions and the mechanosensory functions of the touch neurons; UNC-97 interacts with PAT-4/integrin-linked kinase and with UNC-98; UNC-97 colocalizes with PAT-3/beta integrin at dense bodies, focal adhesion-like muscle attachment structures.
