Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

BCL11A is a SUMOylated protein and recruits SUMO-conjugation enzymes in its nuclear body.
BCL11A/EVI9 is a zinc-finger protein predominantly expressed in brain and hematopoietic cells. Previous studies show that BCL11A is involved in acute myelomonocytic leukemia and chronic lymphoid leukemia in mouse and human, respectively. Moreover, BCL11A is localized in the characteristic nuclear body in which BCL6 is co-localized. However, the significance of BCL11A in leukemogenesis and nuclear function remains unknown. In this ...
