GPN2
YOR262W
Putative GTPase with a role in biogenesis of RNA pol II and polIII; may be involved in assembly of RNA polymerases II and III and in their transport into the nucleus; contains a Gly-Pro-Asn motif in the G domain; similar to Npa3p and Gpn3p; highly conserved across species and homologous to human gene GPN2/ATPBD1B; required for establishment of sister chromatid cohesion

Affinity Capture-MS
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner is identified by mass spectrometric methods.

A deep proteomics perspective on CRM1-mediated nuclear export and nucleocytoplasmic partitioning.
CRM1 is a highly conserved, RanGTPase-driven exportin that caries proteins and RNPs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. We now explored the cargo-spectrum of CRM1 in depth and identified surprisingly large numbers, namely >700 export substrates from the yeast S. cerevisiae, ≈ 1000 from Xenopus oocytes and >1050 from human cells. In addition, we quantified the partitioning of ≈5000 unique ... [more]
