SDC25

Ras family guanine nucleotide exchange factor SDC25, YLL016W
Non-essential Ras guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF); localized to the membrane; expressed in poor nutrient conditions and on nonfermentable carbon sources; contains a stop codon in S288C, full-length gene includes YLL017W; SDC25 has a paralog, CDC25, that arose from the whole genome duplication

CDC25

CTN1, Ras family guanine nucleotide exchange factor CDC25, CDC25', L000000264, L000000263, YLR310C
Membrane bound guanine nucleotide exchange factor; indirectly regulates adenylate cyclase through activation of Ras1p and Ras2p by stimulating the exchange of GDP for GTP; required for progression through G1; a membrane bound guanine nucleotide exchange factor is also known as a GEF or GDP-release factor
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Two-hybrid

Bait protein expressed as a DNA binding domain (DBD) fusion and prey expressed as a transcriptional activation domain (TAD) fusion and interaction measured by reporter gene activation.

Dimerization of Cdc25p, the guanine-nucleotide exchange factor for Ras from Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and its interaction with Sdc25p.

Camus C, Geymonat M, Garreau H, Baudet-Nessler S, Jacquet M

The oligomerization state of Cdc25p, the guanine nucleotide exchange factor for ras from yeast, was analyzed using different complementary approaches. The two-hybrid system showed that the C-terminal part of Cdc25p (Cdc25-Ct) can interact with itself but also with Sdc25p-Ct, the corresponding part of Sdc25p, the other guanine exchange factor from yeast. The homotropic interaction of Cdc25p-Ct has been confirmed in ... [more]

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.
