The yeast oligopeptide transporter Opt2 is localized to peroxisomes and affects glutathione redox homeostasis.
Glutathione, the most abundant small-molecule thiol in eukaryotic cells, is synthesized de novo solely in the cytosol and must subsequently be transported to other cellular compartments.
