L000001840, YGL233W
Essential 113 kDa subunit of the exocyst complex; the exocyst mediates polarized targeting and tethering of post-Golgi secretory vesicles to active sites of exocytosis prior to SNARE-mediated fusion; interacts with and functions as a downstream effector of active, GTP-bound Sec4p, a Rab family GTPase

GO Function (1)
GO Component (6)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)
PREY

RHO3

Rho family GTPase RHO3, L000001632, YIL118W
Non-essential small GTPase of the Rho/Rac family of Ras-like proteins; involved in the establishment of cell polarity; GTPase activity positively regulated by the GTPase activating protein (GAP) Rgd1p
GO Process (3)
GO Function (2)
GO Component (3)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
