STU2

L000003019, YLR045C
Microtubule-associated protein (MAP) of the XMAP215/Dis1 family; regulates microtubule dynamics during spindle orientation and metaphase chromosome alignment; interacts with spindle pole body component Spc72p
GO Process (2)
GO Function (2)
GO Component (5)

DAM1

L000004420, YGR113W
Essential subunit of the Dam1 complex (aka DASH complex); cooperates with Duo1p to connect the DASH complex with the microtubules (MT); couples kinetochores to the force produced by MT depolymerization thereby aiding in chromosome segregation; Ipl1p target for regulating kinetochore-MT attachments
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
