VTC1

NRF1, PHM4, L000004689, YER072W
Subunit of the vacuolar transporter chaperone (VTC) complex; VTC complex is involved in membrane trafficking, vacuolar polyphosphate accumulation, microautophagy and non-autophagic vacuolar fusion; also has mRNA binding activity; protein abundance increases in response to DNA replication stress
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)
PREY

GPN2

YOR262W
Putative GTPase with a role in biogenesis of RNA pol II and polIII; may be involved in assembly of RNA polymerases II and III and in their transport into the nucleus; contains a Gly-Pro-Asn motif in the G domain; similar to Npa3p and Gpn3p; highly conserved across species and homologous to human gene GPN2/ATPBD1B; required for establishment of sister chromatid cohesion

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
