CDC50

aminophospholipid translocase regulatory protein CDC50, L000004326, YCR094W
Endosomal protein that interacts with phospholipid flippase Drs2p; interaction with Cdc50p is essential for Drs2p catalytic activity; mutations affect cell polarity and polarized growth; similar to Lem3p; CDC50 has a paralog, YNR048W, that arose from the whole genome duplication

PEP8

GRD6, VPS26, VPT4, retromer subunit PEP8, L000001378, YJL053W
Vacuolar protein component of the retromer; forms part of the multimeric membrane-associated retromer complex involved in vacuolar protein sorting along with Vps35p, Vps29p, Vps17p, and Vps5p; essential for endosome-to-Golgi retrograde protein transport; interacts with Ypt7p; protein abundance increases in response to DNA replication stress

GO Function (1)
GO Component (5)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
