IZH1

YDR492W
Membrane protein involved in zinc ion homeostasis; member of the four-protein IZH family; transcription is regulated directly by Zap1p, expression induced by zinc deficiency and fatty acids; deletion increases sensitivity to elevated zinc; IZH1 has a paralog, IZH4, that arose from the whole genome duplication

HAP4

transcription factor HAP4, L000000754, YKL109W
Transcription factor; subunit of the heme-activated, glucose-repressed Hap2p/3p/4p/5p CCAAT-binding complex, a transcriptional activator and global regulator of respiratory gene expression; provides the principal activation function of the complex; involved in diauxic shift
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
