BAIT

DSE1

YER124C
Daughter cell-specific protein; may regulate cross-talk between the mating and filamentation pathways; deletion affects cell separation after division and sensitivity to alpha-factor and drugs affecting the cell wall; relocalizes from bud neck to cytoplasm upon DNA replication stress
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)
PREY

RPL19B

ribosomal 60S subunit protein L19B, L19e, rpl5L, YL14, L23B, L19B, L000001719, L000001718, YBL027W
Ribosomal 60S subunit protein L19B; rpl19a and rpl19b single null mutations result in slow growth, while the double null mutation is lethal; homologous to mammalian ribosomal protein L19, no bacterial homolog; RPL19B has a paralog, RPL19A, that arose from the whole genome duplication

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
