HAC1

ERN4, IRE15, transcription factor HAC1, L000002611, YFL031W
Basic leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factor (ATF/CREB1 homolog); regulates the unfolded protein response, via UPRE binding, and membrane biogenesis; ER stress-induced splicing pathway facilitates efficient Hac1p synthesis; protein abundance increases in response to DNA replication stress
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)
PREY

GUP1

L000004739, YGL084C
Plasma membrane protein involved in remodeling GPI anchors; member of the MBOAT family of putative membrane-bound O-acyltransferases; role in misfolded protein quality control; proposed to be involved in glycerol transport; GUP1 has a paralog, GUP2, that arose from the whole genome duplication

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
