EMP24

BST2, L000000549, YGL200C
Component of the p24 complex; role in misfolded protein quality control; binds to GPI anchor proteins and mediates their efficient transport from the ER to the Golgi; integral membrane protein that associates with endoplasmic reticulum-derived COPII-coated vesicles

MDM12

ERMES complex subunit MDM12, L000002933, YOL009C
Mitochondrial outer membrane protein, ERMES complex subunit; required for transmission of mitochondria to daughter cells; required for mitophagy; may influence import and assembly of outer membrane beta-barrel proteins; ERMES complex is often co-localized with peroxisomes and with concentrated areas of pyruvate dehydrogenase
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
