TAX4

YJL083W
EH domain-containing protein; involved in regulating phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate levels and autophagy; Irs4p and Tax4p bind and activate the PtdIns phosphatase Inp51p; Irs4p and Tax4p are involved in localizing Atg17p to the PAS; TAX4 has a paralog, IRS4, that arose from the whole genome duplication

PREY

SHU1

YHL006C
Component of Shu complex (aka PCSS complex); Shu complex also includes Psy3, Csm2, Shu2, and promotes error-free DNA repair, mediates inhibition of Srs2p function; essential for promoting the establishment of homolog bias during meiotic homologous recombination; promotes both crossover (CO) and non-crossover (NCO) pathways of meiotic recombination and formation of Rad51p filaments

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
