ARV1

L000003505, YLR242C
Cortical ER protein; implicated in the membrane insertion of tail-anchored C-terminal single transmembrane domain proteins; may function in transport of glycosylphosphatidylinositol intermediates into ER lumen; required for normal intracellular sterol distribution; human ARV1 required for normal cholesterol and bile acid homeostasis; similar to Nup120p
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

CHS6

CSD3, L000000334, YJL099W
Member of the ChAPs (Chs5p-Arf1p-binding proteins) family; part of the exomer complex that mediates export of specific cargo proteins, including Chs3p, from the Golgi to the plasma membrane; primary component of the Chs5/6 complex that binds directly to membranes; CHS6 has a paralog, BCH2, that arose from the whole genome duplication

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]

Additional Notes

  • Genetic interactions were considered significant if they had a p-value < 0.05 and an SGA score > 0.16 for positive interactions and SGA score < -0.12 for negative interactions.
  • alleles: arv1 - chs6 [SGA score = -0.2375, P-value = 8.423E-8]
