PEX12

PAS11, ubiquitin-protein ligase peroxin 12, L000004223, L000003964, YMR026C
C3HC4-type RING-finger peroxin and E3 ubiquitin ligase; required for peroxisome biogenesis and peroxisomal matrix protein import; forms translocation subcomplex with Pex2p and Pex10p; mutations in human homolog cause peroxisomal disorder

STM1

MPT4, L000002574, YLR150W
Protein required for optimal translation under nutrient stress; perturbs association of Yef3p with ribosomes; involved in TOR signaling; binds G4 quadruplex and purine motif triplex nucleic acid; helps maintain telomere structure; protein abundance increases in response to DNA replication stress; serves as a ribosome preservation factor both during quiescence and recovery
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
