STV1

H(+)-transporting V0 sector ATPase subunit a, L000002139, YMR054W
Subunit a of the vacuolar-ATPase V0 domain; one of two isoforms (Stv1p and Vph1p); Stv1p is located in V-ATPase complexes of the Golgi and endosomes while Vph1p is located in V-ATPase complexes of the vacuole

PREY

TOS2

YGR221C
Protein involved in localization of Cdc24p to the site of bud growth; may act as a membrane anchor; localizes to the bud neck and bud tip; potentially phosphorylated by Cdc28p; TOS2 has a paralog, SKG6, that arose from the whole genome duplication

Negative Genetic

Mutations/deletions in separate genes, each of which alone causes a minimal phenotype, but when combined in the same cell results in a more severe fitness defect or lethality under a given condition. This term is reserved for high or low throughput studies with scores.

We generated a global genetic interaction network for Saccharomyces cerevisiae, constructing more than 23 million double mutants, identifying about 550,000 negative and about 350,000 positive genetic interactions. This comprehensive network maps genetic interactions for essential gene pairs, highlighting essential genes as densely connected hubs. Genetic interaction profiles enabled assembly of a hierarchical model of cell function, including modules corresponding to ... [more]
