Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a severe brain malignancy with limited treatment and dismal prognosis. The tumor suppressor PTEN, a major inhibitor of the phosphatidylinositol-3-OH kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway, is frequently deleted in GBM tumors.
