Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Neuroprotection against transient focal cerebral ischemia and oxygen-glucose deprivation by interference with GluR6-PSD95 protein interaction.
Previous studies have shown that KA receptor subunit GluR6 mediated c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK) signaling is involved in global ischemia injury. Our present study indicates that focal ischemic brain insult on rat middle cerebral artery occlusion (MACo) model enhances the assembly of the GluR6-PSD95-MLK3 module and facilitates the phosphorylation of JNK. Most importantly, a peptide containing the TAT protein ... [more]
