copper metallochaperone COX17, L000003085, YLL009C
Copper metallochaperone that transfers copper to Sco1p and Cox11p; eventual delivery to cytochrome c oxidase; contains twin cysteine-x9-cysteine motifs

ERV1

L000000583, YGR029W
Flavin-linked sulfhydryl oxidase of the mitochondrial IMS; N-terminus is an intrinsically disordered domain that in the cytosol helps target Erv1p to mitochondria, and in the intermembrane space oxidizes Mia40p as part of a disulfide relay system that promotes intermembrane space retention of imported proteins; functional ortholog of human GFER (ALR)
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Cox17 Protein Is an Auxiliary Factor Involved in the Control of the Mitochondrial Contact Site and Cristae Organizing System.

Chojnacka M, Gornicka A, Oeljeklaus S, Warscheid B, Chacinska A

The mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS) is a recently discovered protein complex that is crucial for establishing and maintaining the proper inner membrane architecture and contacts with the outer membrane of mitochondria. The ways in which the MICOS complex is assembled and its integrity is regulated remain elusive. Here, we report a direct link between Cox17, a ... [more]
