Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Role of HSPA1L as a cellular prion protein stabilizer in tumor progression via HIF-1α/GP78 axis.
The cellular prion protein (PrPC) is associated with metastasis, tumor progression and recurrence; however, the precise mechanisms underlying its action is not well understood. Our study found that PrPCdegradation decreased tumor progression in colorectal cancer (CRC). In a CRC cell line and human CRC tissue exposed to hypoxia, induced heat-shock 70-kDa protein-1-like (HSPA1L) expression stabilized hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) protein and ... [more]
