Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

FBXO31 Suppresses Gastric Cancer EMT by Targeting Snail1 for Proteasomal Degradation.

Zou S, Ma C, Yang F, Xu X, Jia J, Liu Z

The F-box protein FBXO31, a component of the Skp1/Cul1/F-box (SCF) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, plays an important regulatory role in neuronal development, stress response, and tumorigenesis. Our recent report indicates that FBXO31 functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer, and the loss of FBXO31 protein is associated with a higher malignant phenotype and poorer prognosis. However, little is known ... [more]
