Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Regulatory role of dynamin-2 in VEGFR-2/KDR-mediated endothelial signaling.

Bhattacharya R, Kang-Decker N, Hughes DA, Mukherjee P, Shah V, McNiven MA, Mukhopadhyay D

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2, also known as KDR) is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) regulating mitogenic, chemotactic, permeability, and survival signals in vascular endothelial cells (EC) in response to its ligand, vascular permeability factor/VEGF (VPF/VEGF), arguably the most important angiogenic cytokine. However, the compartmentalization of KDR in EC and the mechanisms regulating this process have not been well ... [more]
