Processive DNA helicase activity of the minichromosome maintenance proteins 4, 6, and 7 complex requires forked DNA structures.
The minichromosome maintenance (Mcm) proteins 2-7 are required for both the initiation and elongation steps of chromosomal DNA replication. Previous studies have shown that the Mcm complex consisting of the Mcm 4, 6, and 7 proteins contains 3' to 5' DNA helicase activity with limited processivity (displacing duplex DNA regions up to 30 nt). In this report, we show that ... [more]

MCM7 MCM6 | Affinity Capture-Western Affinity Capture-Western An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins. | Low | - | BioGRID | - | |
