Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

APBB1 reinforces cancer stem cell and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition by regulating the IGF1R signaling pathway in non-small-cell lung cancer cells.

Amyloid β precursor protein binding family B member 1(APBB1) was first identified as a binding partner of amyloid precursor protein during brain development, but its function in the context of cancer remain unclear. Here we show for the first time that APBB1 is partly associated with intensifying cancer stem cell(CSC) and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and enhancing radiation-resistant properties of lung ...
