Coupling of Homologous Recombination and the Checkpoint by ATR.

ATR is a key regulator of cell-cycle checkpoints and homologous recombination (HR). Paradoxically, ATR inhibits CDKs during checkpoint responses, but CDK activity is required for efficient HR.
