Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

A DHX9-lncRNA-MDM2 interaction regulates cell invasion and angiogenesis of cervical cancer.

Ding X, Jia X, Wang C, Xu J, Gao SJ, Lu C

Cervical cancer (CC) is the third most common carcinoma and the fourth leading cause of cancer-associated mortality in women. Here, we report that MDM2-DHX9 interaction mediates CC motility and angiogenesis in a long noncoding RNA-dependent fashion. A long noncoding RNA, named lnc-CCDST, is significantly downregulated in CC tissues, and binds to pro-oncogenic DHX9. DHX9 is upregulated in CC tissue, and ... [more]
