Interactions between protein kinase CK2 and Pin1. Evidence for phosphorylation-dependent interactions.
The peptidyl-prolyl isomerase Pin1 interacts in a phosphorylation-dependent manner with several proteins involved in cell cycle events. In this study, we demonstrate that Pin1 interacts with protein kinase CK2, an enzyme that generally exists in tetrameric complexes composed of two catalytic CK2 alpha and/or CK2 alpha' subunits together with two regulatory CK2 beta subunits. Our results indicate that Pin1 can ... [more]

PIN1 CSNK2A1 | Affinity Capture-Western Affinity Capture-Western An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins. | Low | - | BioGRID | - |
