Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

ATG14 facilitated lipophagy in cancer cells induce ER stress mediated mitoptosis through a ROS dependent pathway.
Understanding the dynamics of autophagy and apoptosis crosstalk in cancer progression remains a challenging task. Here, we reported how the autophagy protein ATG14 induces lipophagy-mediated mitochondrial apoptosis. The overexpression of ATG14 in HeLa cells inhibited cell viability and increased mitochondrial apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. Furthermore, inhibition of this ATG14-induced autophagy promoted apoptosis. ATG14 overexpression resulted in the accumulation ... [more]
