The DNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK) controls the repair of double-stranded DNA breaks in mammalian cells. The protein kinase subunit of DNA-PK (DNA-PKcs) is targeted to DNA breaks by association with the Ku DNA-binding heterodimer.
