Y25C1A.5, CELE_Y25C1A.5
Y25C1A.5 encodes a beta subunit of the coatomer (COPI) complex; in mass RNAi assays, Y25C1A.5 is required for fertility, adult viability, osmoregulation, and general health.

Affinity Capture-MS
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner is identified by mass spectrometric methods.

Caenorhabditis elegans ALG-1 antimorphic mutations uncover functions for Argonaute in microRNA guide strand selection and passenger strand disposal.
MicroRNAs are regulators of gene expression whose functions are critical for normal development and physiology. We have previously characterized mutations in a Caenorhabditis elegans microRNA-specific Argonaute ALG-1 (Argonaute-like gene) that are antimorphic [alg-1(anti)]. alg-1(anti) mutants have dramatically stronger microRNA-related phenotypes than animals with a complete loss of ALG-1. ALG-1(anti) miRISC (microRNA induced silencing complex) fails to undergo a functional transition ... [more]

Additional Notes
- the maximum background-corrected normalized spectral abundance factor (NSAF) obtained from purifications of any of the bait variants is reported here
- the prey protein was identified in at least one of purifications
- wild type and several mutant versions of Alg-1 were affinity purified and associated proteins were identified by mass spectrometry
