Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

SPAG5-AS1 inhibited autophagy and aggravated apoptosis of podocytes via SPAG5/AKT/mTOR pathway.
Podocyte injury is a prediction marker of diabetic nephropathy (DN), and AKT/mTOR pathway-mediated inhibition of autophagy is widely reported to contribute to podocyte damage. Recent study stated that sperm-associated antigen 5 (SPAG5) activated AKT/mTOR signalling in bladder urothelial carcinoma, indicating SPAG5 might regulate autophagy and play a role in podocyte damage.Apoptosis and autophagy of human podocytes (HPCs) were detected by ...
