Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

RNF152 positively regulates TLR/IL-1R signaling by enhancing MyD88 oligomerization.

Xiong MG, Xu ZS, Li YH, Wang SY, Wang YY, Ran Y

Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are important pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) that are critical for the defense against invading pathogens. IL-1? is an important pro-inflammatory cytokine that also plays pivotal roles in shaping the adaptive immune response. TLRs and interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1R) share similar cytosolic domains and signaling processes. In this study, we identify the E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF152 as a positive ... [more]
