Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Protein kinase A-induced phosphorylation at the Thr154 affects stability of DJ-1.
Most cases of Parkinson's disease (PD) are sporadic, but genetic variations have been discovered in PD patients. PARK7/DJ-1 is a known cause of early-onset autosomal-recessive PD and is implicated in neuroprotection against oxidative stress. Although several post-translational modifications of DJ-1 have been proposed, phospho-modification of DJ-1 and its functional consequences have been less studied.Putative phosphorylation sites of DJ-1 were determined ...
