Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Metabotropic glutamate 1alpha and adenosine A1 receptors assemble into functionally interacting complexes.
Recently, evidence has emerged that seven transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors may be present as homo- and heteromers in the plasma membrane. Here we describe a new molecular and functional interaction between two functionally unrelated types of G protein-coupled receptors, namely the metabotropic glutamate type 1alpha (mGlu(1alpha) receptor) and the adenosine A1 receptors in cerebellum, primary cortical neurons, and heterologous transfected ...
