The LIM-only protein DRAL/FHL2 binds to the cytoplasmic domain of several alpha and beta integrin chains and is recruited to adhesion complexes.
LIM proteins contain one or more double zinc finger structures (LIM domains) mediating specific contacts between proteins that participate in the formation of multiprotein complexes. We report that the LIM-only protein DRAL/FHL2, with four and a half LIM domains, can associate with alpha(3A), alpha(3B), alpha(7A), and several beta integrin subunits as shown in yeast two-hybrid assays as well as after ... | FHL2 ITGA3 | Affinity Capture-Western Affinity Capture-Western An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins. | Low | - | BioGRID | 315201 | |
