Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Cell surface colligin/Hsp47 associates with tetraspanin protein CD9 in epidermoid carcinoma cell lines.
Hsps expressed on the cell surface have been associated with tumor invasiveness and used as targets for molecular surveillance. The present study utilized four human oral squamous cell carcinoma cells lines, SCC-4, SCC-9, SCC-15, SCC-25, the murine epidermoid carcinoma cell line LL/2, and primary cultures of human gingival fibroblasts to assess the cell surface expression of colligin/Hsp47, a proposed marker ...
