Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

HRD1 attenuates the high uptake of [18F]FDG in hepatocellular carcinoma PET imaging.

Li AM, Lin XW, Shen JT, Li M, Zheng QH, Zhou ZY, Shi M

Due to individual deviations in tumor tissue uptake, the role of [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis is limited. ?-Hydroxy ?-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase degradation 1 (HRD1) plays a key role in clearing misfolded proteins. This study is aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of HRD1 in [18F]FDG uptake for the diagnosis of HCC.HRD1 expression level ... [more]
