Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

The GABAB receptor interacts directly with the related transcription factors CREB2 and ATFx.
gamma-Aminobutyric acid type B (GABA(B)) receptors mediate the metabotropic actions of the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA. These seven-transmembrane receptors are known to signal primarily through activation of G proteins to modulate the action of ion channels or second messengers. The functional GABA(B) receptor is made up of a heterodimer consisting of two subunits, GABA(B)-R1 and GABA(B)-R2, which interact via coiled-coil domains ... [more]
