Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Deubiquitinating enzyme JOSD2 promotes hepatocellular carcinoma progression through interacting with and inhibiting CTNNB1 degradation.

Huang Y, Zeng J, Liu T, Xu Q, Song X, Zeng J

Although a variety of molecular targets have been identified, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains among the leading causes of death. As functions of they deubiquitinating enzyme Josephin domain containing 2 (JOSD2) in cancers are still poorly understood, we investigated its function and molecular mechanism in the regulation of HCC progression. Here, we indicated that JOSD2 expression is elevated in patient samples ... [more]
