Affinity Capture-MS
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner is identified by mass spectrometric methods.

Rtr1 is a CTD phosphatase that regulates RNA polymerase II during the transition from serine 5 to serine 2 phosphorylation.
Messenger RNA processing is coupled to RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) transcription through coordinated recruitment of accessory proteins to the Rpb1 C-terminal domain (CTD). Dynamic changes in CTD phosphorylation during transcription elongation are responsible for their recruitment, with serine 5 phosphorylation (S5-P) occurring toward the 5' end of genes and serine 2 phosphorylation (S2-P) occurring toward the 3' end. The proteins ... [more]

| RTR1 RPB4 | Affinity Capture-Western Affinity Capture-Western An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins. | Low | - | BioGRID | 823280 | |
