Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Let-7b-5p inhibits colon cancer progression by prohibiting APC ubiquitination degradation and the Wnt pathway by targeting NKD1.
Naked cuticle homolog 1 (NKD1), which is expressed at low levels in many tumors, is considered an inhibitor of the Wnt/?-catenin pathway, but it is highly expressed in colon cancer and can promote colon cancer cell proliferation. miRNAs are involved in the occurrence and progression of many tumors. However, miRNAs that can regulate NKD1 and the mechanisms by which NKD1 ... [more]
