Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Hypermethylation of HIC2 is a potential prognostic biomarker and tumor suppressor of glioma based on bioinformatics analysis and experiments.

Luo F, Liao Y, Cao E, Yang Y, Tang K, Zhou D, Zhou D, Cai H

Glioma is the most common primary tumor in the central nervous system, and prognostic biomarkers are still lacking. HIC ZBTB transcriptional repressor 2 (HIC2) is a hypermethylated gene that plays an important functional role in cardiac development. However, the actual role of HIC2 in glioma progression remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the function of HIC2 and whether it ... [more]
