VPS24

DID3, VPL26, ESCRT-III subunit protein VPS24, L000004158, YKL041W
One of four subunits of the ESCRT-III complex; forms an endosomal sorting complex required for transport III (ESCRT-III) subcomplex with Did4p; involved in the sorting of transmembrane proteins into the multivesicular body (MVB) pathway
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S288c)

Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Interaction between ESCRT-III proteins and the yeast SERINC homolog Tms1.

Koelling R

The endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT)-III is involved in membrane remodeling and abscission during intraluminal vesicle (ILV) formation at endosomes. Our data now suggest that ESCRT-III function could be connected to lipid remodeling of the endosomal membrane. This notion is based on our finding that ESCRT-III proteins bind to the yeast serine incorporator (SERINC) homolog Tms1. Human SERINC3 ... [more]
