The Ca(2+) -dependent response to oxidative stress caused by H(2)O(2) or tert-butylhydroperoxide (tBOOH) was investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells expressing transgenic cytosolic aequorin, a Ca(2+) -dependent photoprotein.
