Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Transcription coactivator PBP, the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-binding protein, is required for PPARalpha-regulated gene expression in liver.
Nuclear receptor coactivator PBP (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)-binding protein) functions as a coactivator for PPARs and other nuclear receptors. PBP serves as an anchor for TRAP (thyroid hormone receptor-associated proteins)/mediator multisubunit cofactor transcription complex. Disruption of the PBP/TRAP220 gene results in embryonic lethality around embryonic day 11.5 by affecting placental, cardiac, hepatic, and bone marrow development. Because PPAR isoforms alpha, ...
