Affinity Capture-Western
An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

The mouse C/EBPdelta gene promoter is regulated by STAT3 and Sp1 transcriptional activators, chromatin remodeling and c-Myc repression.
CCAAT/enhancer binding proteindelta (C/EBPdelta) gene transcription is highly induced in G(0) growth arrested mammary epithelial cells and "loss of function" alterations in C/EBPdelta have been reported in human breast cancer. To gain a better understanding of the positive and negative factors that control C/EBPdelta gene expression we investigated the role of transcriptional activators, coactivators, repressors, histone modifications, chromatin remodeling and ...
