Affinity Capture-Western

An interaction is inferred when a bait protein is affinity captured from cell extracts by either polyclonal antibody or epitope tag and the associated interaction partner identified by Western blot with a specific polyclonal antibody or second epitope tag. This category is also used if an interacting protein is visualized directly by dye stain or radioactivity. Note that this differs from any co-purification experiment involving affinity capture in that the co-purification experiment involves at least one extra purification step to get rid of potential contaminating proteins.

Phosphorylated p68 RNA helicase activates Snail1 transcription by promoting HDAC1 dissociation from the Snail1 promoter.

Carter CL, Lin C, Liu CY, Yang L, Liu ZR

The nuclear p68 RNA helicase is a prototypical member of the DEAD-box family of RNA helicases. p68 RNA helicase has been implicated in cell proliferation and early organ development and maturation. However, the functional role of p68 RNA helicase in these biological processes at the molecular level is not well understood. We previously reported that tyrosine phosphorylation of p68 RNA ...
